Blocking a table

Block a table — or the whole venue — for a time range so nothing can be booked onto it. For maintenance, a private function, or a closure.

Making a block

  1. On the book, open More ▾ and choose Block a table. The block applies to the date you are looking at.

  2. Under What to block, pick the table — or leave it on Entire venue.

  3. Set From and Until.

  4. Write a Reason — maintenance, private event. It shows on the timeline, so the person on the door at 6pm knows why that table is dark without ringing you.

  5. Press Create block.

The block appears on the timeline as a ⛔ bar carrying your reason, and nothing can be booked over it — not by a guest, and not by you.

Blocking the whole venue

Leaving What to block on Entire venue covers every table at once. Use it for a function that takes the room, a staff meeting before service, or a late opening on one particular day.

Removing a block

Click the block on the timeline and it is removed. There is no confirmation step, because the cost of removing one by accident is that you make it again.

Block or deactivate?

They look similar and are not:

  • A block covers a time range on a date. For tonight, this weekend, the afternoon of the function.
  • Deactivating a table on the floor plan takes it out indefinitely, until you turn it back on. For the broken leg and the courtyard in July.
