The day sheet
A printable list of the day's bookings — time, covers, guest, table and phone — for when the tablet dies or the internet drops.
The Service day sheet is the paper version of tonight. It exists for one moment: the tablet is dead, the internet is out, and service starts in ten minutes.
Printing it
From the book, open More ▾ and choose Day sheet. It opens on the date you were looking at, so you do not pick the day twice. Press Print.
Everything that is not the sheet — the buttons, the date picker — is left off the paper. What you get is the list.
What is on it
Five columns, in the order a host reads them:
- Time
- Pax — the party size
- Guest
- Table
- Phone — so you can ring the 7:30 that has not arrived by 7:50 without a working system
No-shows are left off. A printed sheet is a list of who is coming, and a line you have already written off is noise on paper in a way it is not on a screen.
When to print
Every service, if you can. At minimum: any night that matters, any night your internet has been unreliable, and any night the person running the floor is not the person who knows the system.
Bookings made after you print obviously are not on it. If you print at 4pm and take phone bookings until 6, mark them on by hand — a pen is a better fallback than a second printout.
